Very good food, absolutely professional service, reasonable prices. Toilets could be improved (small capacity, maintenence). Reservation recommended, parking on weekends might require patience.

I ordered the salmon soup starter, which was hot and creamy and smooth, and if you were feeling hungry and cold it would definitely be welcome, but that's all that can be said good about it. I had been looking forward to a some decent chunks of salmon and instead I got a few bits of obviously adulterated salmon-content dough, like cheap supermarket fishcakes. For the main course I went for the broccoli cheese, which was fashionably al dente (some would say undercooked) and covered in disappointingly stringy warm melted cheese. The local lager is fine, the service very friendly indeed, and the price of around €7 admittedly low. However, although being no professional cook, I can and will routinely prepare better, better presented and more enjoyable food than that without thinking about it. I suspect that the location almost right on the German border means the majority of their market are day trippers whose focus is low-cost bulk buying rather than any gastronomic experiences. With the benefit of experience, I would recommend waiting to eat at some more urban location further deep in the Czech Republic or, as a last resort, eat here but put up with the strongly meat- and game-centered options which seem to be very much the traditional local diet.

Nice place, they have a good selection of food. Menu available in Czech, German and staff is fluent in both language too. They are friendly, kind and chatty. Good portion and fair price, delicious food. XL schnitzel was huge and tasty ;)
