A unique object in the style of a mountain log house was built in 1921 for the director of the Kladno mines, Joseaf Janeček. It was designed by Maximilian Duchoslav, who built, for example, a functionalist substation in Bohdalec or the current Greek embassy in Prague-Ořechovka. The building is a proof of a significant conservative current of interwar architecture - a stylistic counterpoint to the prevailing functionalism of the time. The building is surrounded by a garden in a steeply rising terrain. The house has three living floors with approximately 20 rooms and a technical basement. An interesting feature is the cellar with an ideal climate, sunk into the slope and connected to the basement by a long corridor of oval cross-section.

Po nuselských schodech chodím téměř každé úterý, po cestě ke svému doktorovi. Dávám této cestě pěšky přednost, neboť je to příjemná procházk
I walk up the Nusle stairs almost every Tuesday, on the way to my doctor. I prefer this walk on foot as it is a pleasant walk

Lovely 1920s wooden villa that has fallen into disrepair. Seems like the new owners want to preserve and restor it to its original splendor. Worth a look if you pass by, yet another hidden historical gem that makes Prague so special!

An utterly magical place. Passing this vintage picturesque cottage in the heart of Prague centre is like suddenly stepping into a fairytale. I truly hope and pray, that the rumors about demolishing this beatiful part of Czech history is a false alarm.
