★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fairy tale like valley of the river Elbe, surprise where you would not have expected one. It is quite remote for the walking tourists, but cyclists, occasional canoe lovers and any motoring fans shall spare some hour to get there either as a detour from the mountain range or from rhe nearby ZOO/ Safari @ Dvur Kralove. Probably the cosiest dam in Czech.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You are driving on the sat nav route from Hostinné to Trutnov, you come out of the trees and see this. WOW! Simply stunning. In beautiful condition and with all of the ancillary buildings intact. Good info boards with some English. See if you can find the electric company's funicular service railway!
