K oslavám 1150. výročí příchodu sv. Cyrila a Metoděje na Velkou Moravu se v roce 2013 připojilo i Brno. A to právě odhalením sousoší svatých Cyrila a Metoděje u katedrály sv. Petra a Pavla na Petrově. Autory sousoší Vladimír Matoušek a Radim Horák.
To celebrate the 1150th anniversary of the arrival of St. Cyril and Methodius in Great Moravia in 2013 and joined Brno. It is the unveiling of statues of Saints Cyril and Methodius at the Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul in Petrov. Sculptures by Vladimír Matoušek and Radim Horák.

Going to St. Peter and Paul Cathedral, you will see him as you climb the stairs to the cathedral on the right. The monument was unveiled in 2013, in honor of the 1150th anniversary of the arrival of St. St. Cyril and Methodius in Great Moravia. Its authors are Vladimir Matushek and Radim Horak.

I can't say I understand the concept of this, more exactly why the saints face each other and look like a statue of "The Kiss" by Brancusi, but I would feel terrible to rate it less than five stars. The nearby Diocesan Museum featured an exhibition of contemporary Church art when I visited that I didn't really like but I guess others find inspiration in it. For me the best part of this statue is the location and it does provide a good angle on the stunning Cathedral
