★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow. So much to say about this sweet little studio. I had found their notebooks in another store and was curious about the artists behind them, so I looked them up and was led to this place. It’s tucked away on a side street and you have to be buzzed in. A lady there warmly greeted me despite me knowing only a little Czech and her little bit of (very good!) English. I explained that I wanted to buy some more of their products and she showed me an alcove full of boxes of their beautiful work. All the employees waved and smiled at me as I went past, clearly excited to have a visitor. Another woman explained to me their process, material sourcing, and how ten years ago, a woman with Down’s Syndrome started this studio not only for herself, but as a safe work environment for other people with mental handicaps who may not be able to find good jobs. They hung my coat and offered me tea and told me to stay as long as I’d like to browse and watch them work... wish I could have stayed longer. They all asked me where I was from and shook my hand on the way out. I have never felt so welcome by strangers. Truly beautiful people worth supporting. Go support them! ?
