První domy zde byly postaveny v roce 1907. The first houses were built here in 1907. At that time the square was called Hlávkovo. Probably after 1914 the name Kubíkovo náměstí was taken after the deceased local mayor. In 1925 it was officially named Siberian Square. An only exception was during the German occupation period, when it was called the Ošperské Square between 1940 - 1945. Aspern (Aspry, Ospry) is a village in Lower Austria, where in 1809 the battle was fought between the Austrians and the French. One of the most interesting local houses is the one with No. 280, built in 1907 according to a design by famous Czech architect Jan Kotěra. In the second half of the 20th century, the older buildings were supplemented by the objects of the Russian School, now the High School at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Czech Republic. Since 1981, a sculpture of two girls, called Youth, by sculptor Jiří Kryštůvk, has been standing on a high pedestal at the school.
