★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dvoumetrová socha císaře Josefa II zdobí náměstí v Trutnově od roku 2009. Původní socha zde stála v letech 1866 až 1923 kdy v době první republiky byla odstraněna jako symbol Habsburské monarchie. Mám rád sochy připomínajíci naši historii. Kdyby šla historie změnit odstraněním soch. Bylo by to až moc jednoduché.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Původní socha Josefa II. byla na tomtéž místě poprvé instalována v roce 1886, v roce 1923 však byla (coby nežádoucí) odstraněna. Originál je umístěn v Muzeu Podkrkonoší a podle něj byla v umělecké slévárně HVH v Horní Kalné odlita tato kopie. Socha měří zhruba 2,5 metru a celková výška i s podstavcem dosahuje sedmi metrů. Byla slavnostně odhalena 12. září 2009 u příležitosti zahájení Dnů evropského dědictví.
The original statue of Joseph II. was first installed in the same site in 1886, but in 1923 it was removed as undesirable. The original is housed in the Museum of the Podkrkonoší Region and according to it, this copy was cast in the HVH art foundry in Horní Kalná. The sculpture measures about 2.5 meters and the total height, with the pedestal, reaches seven meters. It was unveiled on 12 September 2009 to mark the initiation of the European Heritage Days.
