T	Tonda Kotrč on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Krásná budova po rozsáhlé rekostrukci !!! A teď trochu té historie: Ustavující valná hromada plzeňského Sokola se konala 25. října 1863 v tehdejší Měšťanské besedě. Slavnostní otevření sokolovny proběhlo 9. února 1896, ale až v roce 1904 zde bylo nainstalováno elektrické osvětlení. V roce 1913 měla jednota 1077 členů a 156 členek. V roce 1919 navštívil sokolovnu tehdejší prezident T. G. Masaryk. V roce 1941 byl Sokol rozpuštěn a obnoven byl až roku 1945. Následovalo problematické období let 1948 - 1989, v roce 1951 byl Sokol zlikvidován a až v roce 1990 došlo k obnově Sokola a jeho jednot. V roce 2002 přišla povodeň, nejvyšší stav vody v sokolovně byl 1,03 metru. Sokol Plzeň I měl v průběhu let řadu různých oddílů, např. oddíl turistiky, plavecký, míčových her, táboření, veslařský, bruslařský, šermu, tenisu. Sportovní vybavení nemůžu hodnotit, ale zevnějšek a přilehlá zahrada jsou pěkné na pohled. The building is beautifully renovated and fits right on the edge of Štruncovy sady above the river. Sports equipment I can not evaluate, but the exterior and adjacent garden are nice to look at.

The building of the Skoka Plzeень gymnastics club is located in the sports zone of the city near the Dusan Arena central stadium. The main contingent of students here is children and young people. The club constantly takes part in republican and regional competitions, often taking prizes. This indicates a high level of training of young athletes. The club building itself is made in the classical style and is a monument of architecture.

The architecture of the building is beautiful & the chandelier in the middle of the hall sets everything off. In a way it’s a kind of a shame that this place hasn’t been rehabbed and returned to its old glory. I happen to be here for my daughter’s gymnastics meet. But I knew something was up when I saw 30 ppl standing outside, I believe their was a guide giving them the 411 about the building. This place is right between the pilsner brewery & FC Victoria plzen stadium so if you are in the area give it a look. Travel more CD
