Southern Pilsen Region Museum in Blovice

Nice little museum at the castle. Perfect ticket prices (JAWA)

About 450 m south of Masaryk Square in Blovice is the former castle Hradiště (1704), in which the Regional Museum Pilsen-South (Muzeum jižního Plzeňska) is located. As part of the visit you can also see the beautiful castle chapel. Nice is also the adjacent castle park (zámecký park).

We visited the castle Hradiště in Blovice during the spring fair and I must say that I was surprised and excited. I have never had the honor to visit this jewel in the South of Pilsen and now it seems that I will be happy to come back as soon as possible. :-) I heard that the castle had been in a bad state for a long time, and the greater it was to get it into such a form - though of course it still has to go. The adjacent park is also beautiful.

The museum is at the Castle in Hradiště. Very nice place, park. We have been to the castle several times, there are always new exhibitions & expositions, it is renamed. Now very nice exhibition about gendarmes, their fates during and after the war, personal memories. And especially a great exhibition about the castle, what it looked like, what was found ...... a model of the original Gothic form and later. Finding processing, drawings, perfectly described. It can be seen that everyone has done their job. Thanks to Mr. J. Bouda.

Beautiful neo-Gothic mansion, which originated from a Gothic fortress. Part of the castle is the Chapel of St. Ondřej. After the introductory information in the chapel it is possible to browse the individual expositions without a guide and without time limit. It is a quiet place where you can concentrate on everything the visitor is interested in. The interiors are interestingly furnished and everyone can choose the content of their knowledge and mainly to get acquainted with the history of Blovice and important personalities who lived and influenced the local region. At the box office you can buy a very beautifully written book Childhood in the castle park - the memories of the daughter of the castle gardener (by Marie Hraničková and Jaroslava Koutská), which is full of period photographs and memories from the early 20th century - . After reading, perhaps it is not possible for the reader not to love this region. Last but not least, it is possible to visit children's workshops - for example, Puppet Laboratory (ends September 15), where children can make a puppet, doll or pet from simple wooden elements, cottons, fabrics and dyes using tools prepared on the work table. I highly recommend visiting this interesting place for adults and children. In the chateau park you can spend another part of the day and let the greenery of the grown threes, nostalgia of old bridges and ponds.

An interesting exhibition. One circuit, if you go honestly about 1 hour Lady at the cash register very nice.
