A quiet place in the middle of the city.

How do I evaluate a church? Well, it has a nice color, the clocks go so well and there is a pen.

As part of the Ant. I visited Dvořák's concert of the Brno Philharmonic in the local church. A unique experience.

Church of St. Jacob the Greater (sometimes referred to as the Church of St. James the Elder) is probably the oldest urban architectural monument. Originally a Gothic building perhaps from the first half of the 13th century was rebuilt several times. In addition to its spiritual mission, the church also served a defensive function. Around the church was a cemetery, which was abolished in 1784. The church tower is still partially walled loopholes from the 15th - 16 century and a "secret dungeon", in which were stored valuables and important documents of the city. The original medieval interior was probably destroyed during the Hussite wars. The present appearance of the church dates back to 1869. Interesting fact: The tower clock shows the time since 1842, when it was repaired by Prague watchmaker Balke, atypically: the clock shows the big hand, the minute small. Church of st. James the Elder in Příbram is the oldest monument in the city and is a dominant on the square of T. G. Masaryk. It was founded in the 13th century. The marble altar in the church comes from the monastery in Mariánské Týnice near Kralovice.

The church was built and adapted from Gothic to present. This not very important building monument dominates the large sloping square and other similar buildings in Pribram. It has a much more interesting landmark thanks to its underground (excluding Holy Mountain).
