★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pěkný, udržovaný.Zajímavostí je, že při výstavbě použita vodarenská věž jako zvonice a křížová cesta vymalována na ocelových plátech.
Nice, well-kept. The interesting thing is that the construction used water tower as a belfry and Stations of the Cross painted on steel plates.

Beautiful neo-Gothic church by architect August Kirstein. The tower was originally a reservoir.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Novogotický trojlodní kostel postaven 1880 - 1886. Pozemek pro stavbu kostela a fary darovaly Vitkovické železárny včetně stavebního materiálu a finanční podpory. Celkové náklady činily v té době 320000Kč. V oltáři se nachází ostatky svatého Jana Sarkandera. (slezský katolický kněz)
Je to překrásná dominanta Vítkovic.
The neo-Gothic three-nave church was built between 1880 and 1886. The land for the construction of the church and the rectory was donated by the Vitkovice Ironworks, including building materials and financial support. The total cost at that time was CZK 3,200,000. In the altar are the remains of St. John Sarkander. (Silesian Catholic priest)
It is a beautiful landmark of Vítkovice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the church where my wife's grandparents were married. The church is beautiful inside. Not as ornate as the cathedrals in Prague or Vienna, but even more elegant.
