 Challenging, but you can definitely handle it with breaks. The reward is the top of Smrk with a lookout tower.

Gateway to Heaven or Spruce with a lookout tower. There is a 200-meter elevation rise. Thanks to the stairs, the meters are growing fast.

The beautiful view of the eastern part of the Jizera Mountains and the Giant Mountains, the challenging ascent along the Heavenly Ladder is worth the effort.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting to see that the wooden staircase and boards of Jacob's Ladder gets its own mention on Google Maps! By the time you get here, you've probably already been hiking for a couple of hours and so ascending will prove a great test of your stamina.
I've done the Ladder in both deep snow and high summer; each presents it's own climatic challenge. But it's worth the effort to be rewarded with the fantastic views of this beautiful landscape. And you know that when you get to the top of the Ladder it's not that far to the viewing tower.
You can give yourself a day or two off from the gym if you climb this :)
