Plans to build a tram line to Lehovec appeared as early as 1929, when the establishment of a new tram depot, which would stand in the place of today's Lehovec loop, was being considered. The depot was established in the early 1950s at another location directly in Hloubětín, and the line was extended in Poděbradská Street to Lehovec in 1976 due to the traffic service of the Hloubětín housing estate and the emerging housing estate of Lehovec. The youngest Prague depot in Hloubětín was built in 1949-51 according to the design of engineers Wünsch and Lopata.
