Původně renesanční zámek postavený na konci 16. století pro rod Krajířů z Krajku získal dnešní podobu během klasicistní přestavby ve 30. letech 19. století. O jeho nynější tvář se zasloužil zejména porýnský rod říšských svobodných pánů Dalbergů, který na začátku 19. století zvolil zámek za své reprezentační sídlo. Jednotliví členové rodu zde postupně shromažďovali cenné umělecké, přírodovědné či etnografické sbírky a také rozsáhlou rodovou knihovnu. Prohlídková trasa, která v minulém desetiletí prošla náročnou obnovou, autenticky zachycuje život šlechty v průběhu 19. a na počátku 20. století.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chateau Dacice has been rebuild in the empire style and it is a well preserved example of this style. The tour consists of around 20 rooms and takes about an hour and shows how the owners lived here at the end of the 19th century. Of all the rooms the library is most beautiful and it is worth a visit just to see it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice chateau off the beaten track. There are definitely more spectacular ones to be found in the Czech Republic but its modesty is part of the charm. Just 100kc for a guided tour (foreign language texts available) and there's a lovely café adjacent to it. Be aware that the chateau itself is closed in the winter months but the café stays open.
