Byla odhalena v roce 1976, nejspíš jako součást výzdoby Janáčkova divadla a jeho okolí. Podíleli se na ní výtvarníci Vladimír Koštoval (návrh 1971), Otakar Oplatek a Vilém Zavřel.
 a life-size bronze portrait statue in a relaxed position is placed on a low block of stone base made of gray polished granite. It was unveiled in 1976, probably as part of the decoration of the Janáček Theater and its surroundings. Artists Vladimír Koštoval (design 1971), Otakar Oplatek and Vilém Zavřel took part in it.
