Synagoga a Rabínský dům v Úštěku

Beautifully renovated building. I didn't even know there was such a thing in Úštěk.

Worth seeing. Quite hidden, I overlooked her once and crossed. It was only when I looked at the photos that I found her when I walked around for the second time. Maintained construction.

The renovated synagogue and the school below it are amazing. But what strikes the overall impression is the design of the exhibition, which baptizes you with tons of lifeless words panel next to the panel.

Seeing such a sensitively and beautifully reconstructed memory man takes heart. Bravo and great thanks to the Association for the Úštěk Synagogue and the Cemetery, which probably all has "on conscience". The Jewish community is documented in Úštěk in the 16th century. Today's tabernacle was preceded by a wooden synagogue, which unfortunately burnt down in the 18th century. In 1794, a permit to build a new stone synagogue in the Classicist style was issued. The building was built on a rocky promontory, which further emphasized the tower architecture of the synagogue. The construction itself took place in 1791-1794. Today, the Rabin House presents an exhibition of the history of Jews and education. Next to the synagogue you will find the Museum of Historical Postcards, where you can compare what the synagogue used to look like today and today. Beautifully reconstructed building is just like an awesome feeling. Bravo and Big Thank You to the Association for the Úštěk Synagogue and the Cemetery, which seems to be the one behind all the changes and reconstruction. The synagogue and rabbin house were ruins in the past destined for extinction. Fortunately, they have been able to complete their overall reconstruction. The synagogue was built in 1791-1794 in the Classicist style on a promontory over the valley as a tower-like building around which the Jewish community spread. Although it is a tower-like building, it looks like a one-story street. It was closed in 1938, and today it is open to the public, together with the school and cantor's dwelling, and the rabbi's side house. Wonderful place and one of the top Úštěka.

Great and pleasant surprise when visiting Úštěk. The building of the synagogue (and the neighboring rabbin house), abandoned and closed after the Jesuits 'Jews' departure in 1938, was preserved in the 70s of the 20th century until its demolition was planned. It did not happen and, thanks to the extensive reconstruction started in the 1990s (and continuing in the years 2001 - 2003 and 21012 - 2014), the object was saved and made available. With a very helpful and helpful guide you can see the synagogue premises (otherwise used for concerts, lectures and other local cultural events), in the basement there is a demonstration of a rural Jewish school and a cantor's flat that complement the exhibition "Jewish Education in the Czech Lands" a secondary rabbin house.

A small historical treasure saved in 5 minutes12, even if you don't believe anything, it will surely impress you if you experience an acoustic concert in this intimate soul environment.
