Olomoucká pevnost postupně zastarávala a na počátku 19.století již nevyhovovala tehdejším vojenským účelům. Po ztrátě Slezska rozhodla Marie Terezie o posílení a modernizaci Olomoucké pevnosti. Bylo rozhodnuto o předělání zastaralé bastionové pevnosti na fortovou pevnost. Na Tabulovém vrchu, místě, odkud byla Olomouc dříve ostřelována Pruským dělostřelectvem, byl postaven v letech 1839-1846 fort, tedy malá předsunutá pevnost, která měla chránit střed pevnosti před dělostřelectvem. V dnešní době slouží tento fort jako archiv místní fakultní nemocnici.

The Olomouc fortress gradually became obsolete and at the beginning of the 19th century it was no longer suitable for military purposes. After the loss of Silesia, Maria Theresa decided to strengthen and modernize the Olomouc fortress. It was decided to remodel outdated bastion fortress fort fort. On Tabulový vrch, the place where Olomouc was previously bombarded by the Prussian artillery, was built in the years 1839-1846 fort, a small forward fort, which was to protect the center of the fort from artillery. Nowadays, this fort serves as an archive for the local teaching hospital.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Jedná se o rozsáhlou pevnost, která běžně není přístupná. Své brány otevírá pouze pro omezený počet předem přihlášených lidí v rámci významných akcí. Patří FNOL, která v jedné její části má své pracoviště. Při prohlídce se podíváte do bývalých stájí, nemocnice i podzemí. Je nutné si s sebou vzít svítilnu a teplé oblečení. Je to kouzelné místo, které by si zasloužilo kompletní rekonstrukci.
It is an extensive fortress that is not normally accessible. Opens its doors for only a limited number of pre-registered people in the major events. It belongs to FNOL, which has its workplace in one of its parts. During the tour you look into the former stables, hospitals and underground. You need to bring a flashlight and warm clothes with you. It is a magical place that deserves a complete renovation.
