The original "Dance of Death" is one of the works of sculptor Emil Schwantner. The statue was first unveiled on September 11, 1932. But the monument did not stand in the city park for a long time. In 1942, the Nazis melted it. The replica of the sculptures was revealed in 2017 again. The author of the original sculptural group Emil Schwanter was born in Královec in Žacléř region, but he lived and worked in the Trutnov district between the first and second world war. Here he also had his studio and apartment in today's Husova Street.

In 1942, it was melted down by the Nazis. The replica of the sculptural group was ceremoniously unveiled again in 2017. A death whistle on a human-bladed whistle trio of soldiers reminds the trio of extinction of 334 Trutnov men killed during the First World War. ?
The very impressive sculpture Dance of Death, a copy of which stands in the city park in Trutnov, is the original work of sculptor Emil Schwantner. However, the original fell victim to the collection of non-ferrous metals for the German war industry on July 30, 1942. A copy based on surviving period photographs was created by sculptor Paulina Skavova in 2016-2017. Really worth a look. ?
