Almost at the end of the Lahoz Bay, just above the water, there are three crosses from 1878. Unfortunately, their origin is unknown, but since the beginning of the 20th century this place has been referred to as the "center of the Kingdom of Bohemia". During their existence, the crosses have been damaged several times and rebuilt. Mr. Josef Chomát became their last saver in 1957. It is a place marked in the landscape by three stone crosses. This site is surrounded by many secrets and it is not really known to this day why this place has been so marked, since the crosses have been standing here and who had them built first. The locals recall a legend that marks this place as the center of the old Bohemian Kingdom from the time of Wenceslas or Charles. But this is not documented anywhere in writing. It is certain that the geographical center of the Czech Kingdom is not concerned. Who knows what "heart" the legend has in mind. The available literature (The Sacred Places of the Kingdom of Bohemia, Dr. A. Podlaha, 1909) shows that originally there were wooden crosses and that there were four. It was allegedly built here by Jakub Záhorský, a retired soldier, a native of the nearby Záhoří farm and the initiator of the construction of the nearby Chapel Rovínek (built in 1841). Only in 1878 the original crosses were replaced by three stone crosses (see the year on the back of the middle cross). However, why the crosses are located here and what was the reason for their origin is not explained here. According to other sources, Jakub Záhorský was a native of Lahoz. It was situated in a valley under the crosses and during the construction of the dam lake was partly flooded by the Vltava River and partly disappeared among a large number of built cottages. The fact is that the Záhorský family actually lived in the village of Lahoz and their cottage stood directly under the hillside on which the crosses are built. Many bright visitors to this place could rightly argue that it is not very accurate to speak of three crosses in this case, as there are only two crosses, the extreme ones. But the truth is that even on the middle of the cross was previously a cross, but it is now tightened. Yes, these small sacral buildings have not escaped the hands of vandals during their existence and have been damaged several times, the last time happened sometime in the middle of the 20th century. In 1957, however, were rebuilt by Mr. Josef Chomát of Přestavlk, but probably for static reasons the pedestals of the left and middle cross had to be replaced. The left cross also got the angel's head, which unfortunately is missing again today.
