Výstavbu kamenných hradeb v Trutnově datujeme do 14. století. Vstup do města umožňovaly tři brány. Na jižní straně hradebního pásma ústila uliční síť do několika menších branek – forten. Malebná Truhlářská ulička propojuje Havlíčkovu ulici a ulici Na Struze. V uličce se zřejmě nacházela truhlářská dílna. Název byl přejat ze středověkého jména Truhlářské branky, která uličku předělovala. The construction of the stone walls in Trutnov dates back to the 14th century. There were three gates to enter the city. On the southern side of the fortification zone, the street network led to several smaller gates - posterns. The picturesque Truhlářská Street connects Havlíčkova Street and the street called Na Struze (southern layer of the city fortification). There was probably a joinery workshop in it. The name was taken from the medieval name of Truhlářská branka (The Joiner's Gate), which divided the tiny street into two halves.
