První slovanská obydlí byla vybudována v blízkosti důležitých zemských cest sbíhajících se k brodu přes Rokytku. Jméno získala kolem 2. poloviny 12. století - je odvozeno od jejího vlastníka zvaného Počerný. V tomto období vzniklo i feudální sídlo s románským kostelíkem (dnešní zámecký areál). V dalších staletích se panství postupně rozrůstalo. Do dnešní podoby se Dolní Počernice dostaly ve 20. a 30. letech 20. století. The history of Dolní Počernice dates back to prehistoric times, when settlements of people from the Řivnáč and later Únětice culture were established here, which were later overlapped by a settlement from a Roman period. The first Slavic dwellings were built near important country roads converging to the ford across Rokytka. It was named around the second half of the 12th century - it is derived from its owner named Počerný. During this period a feudal mansion with a Romanesque church was built (today's chateau complex). In the following centuries the estate gradually expanded. Dolní Počernice came into its present form in the 1920s and 1930s.
