Beautifully repaired town hall in front of which stands a statue of Arnošt of Pardubice makes the city honor. The whole center is clean, beautiful flower beds, renovated buildings.

The floor plan of Arnošt Square from Pardubice has a slightly elongated shape, slightly widening at the northeastern end. An important long-distance road from Prague to Kolín, Jihlava and further to Vienna came from the western and south-eastern tip. In April 1838, a fire broke out in Úvaly, in which the northwestern part of the square burned down, which also affected its later development. The town hall is located in the building of the original Úvalské radnice č.p. 95 on the south side of the square, which has been gradually reconstructed for the needs of the city since 2007. Right next to it is the birth house of the writer Marie Majerová no. 18, today declared an immovable cultural monument. In the neighborhood you will find the building of the rectory no. 45 from the turn of the 1950s and 1960s with a memorial plaque to the dean, writer and ethnographic researcher Alois Dostál, who worked here from 1906 until his death in 1934.
