Vinařice - Obecní Úřad - Vinařice 4

Preserved sources depict that the village of Vinařice is one of the villages of charming Podlesí. It lies 12 km south of Louny, at the very border of this district. Pochválovský brook flows through the village and the surrounding sloping fields are lined with forest sections. This local landscape was already inhabited in the Bronze Age. The antiquity of the Slavonic settlement is evident, for example, from the proximity of the important hillfort Dřevíč. The first written record of Vinařice refers to the year 1238, when it was the seat of Bishop Johann de Wineriz. At the end of the first quarter of the 14th century this village was owned by Bičan of Vinařice who built a castle here. This could also have happened under his predecessor Henry of Dubá. In the middle of the 14th century, Vinařice was acquired by the Podmokelský family of Prostiboř who are mentioned for the last time around 1460. In the last quarter of the 15th century Jeník of Divice was the seat of the wine-growing castle, followed by the Lords of Klinštejn. Around 1520 he became the owner of the local farm Děpold of Lobkovice and Bílina. His descendants rebuilt the fortress in the neighboring Divice into a chateau around the 16th century and left the wine-growing castle, so that it fell into disrepair and eventually disappeared. The estate of Vinařice together with other surrounding estates was shortly owned by the Trčka family, from whom it was bought in 1601 by Kryštof of Lobkovice. In 1720 the entire estate of Cítoliby and Vinařice were inherited by the Pachts of Rájov, followed by Wimmer from 1797 and finally by the Schwarzenbergs from 1802. Vinařice remained in the possession of this family until the dissolution of feudalism in 1848 and the land in part until parcelling in 1924. The wine-growing castle was situated on a spur above the village. This place is still called Na zámek (Castle) and you can see the remains of fortifications that had an entrance gate in the southern elongated part. The structure of the castle is difficult to determine, the cellars are also overcast. The municipality of Vinařice also includes the municipality of Divice.
