★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great, personal tour and rich wine tasting. Tells the story and history of Bohemia Sekt and its initiator Louis Girardot. With a record production of 17 million bottles (2017) they came far from the humble beginnings around WWII.
Taste note: excellent
Bohemia Sekt can rival with the best labels because of its delicate and balanced taste. It lacks the sometimes mouldy first smell of cava and some German sekts.
The wineries are near Plžen and Moravia (on the same lattitude as the Champagne region in France). A variety of types traditional or charmat ranging from extra brut to demi are on offer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great tour. We only speak English and the tour was in Czech so we were given notes in English to follow. At the end we tasted 5 half glasses of sparkling wine. We arrived on the train via Pilsen and then got a taxi back to Pilsen. The tour guide kindly organized the taxi back for us. Refer to the Ceske Drahy website for train times. Initially we were confused as Google maps didn't show any direct trains from Pilsen to the winery.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice shop with a good range of sparkling wines. We had read there was a tour available but when we asked the lady on the till she seemed to know nothing about them, so we just left with our wine.
