Walking around Jordan in nice weather is definitely worth it. Water reservoir in Tábor with an area of ​​over 50 ha. It was built in 1492 by damming the Košínský brook and it is the oldest dam in Central Europe. The reservoir was built as a reservoir of drinking water for the city, today it is also widely used for recreation.

The water reservoir (with an area of ​​over 50 hectares and a maximum depth of 14 meters) was created in 1492 by damming the Košín brook - making it one of the oldest valley dam reservoirs in Central Europe. It got its name from the Jordan River in the Holy Land and originally supplied the city with drinking water. It was only later that it began to be used for fish farming and today it serves as a water reservoir, but also for recreation and sport fishing. It was released only in 1830 and was never demudged. This took place for the first time between 2011-2014 to the great delight of archaeologists, who found the remains of a historic drain, a late medieval brickyard, or weapons and old ammunition.
