Současná zámecká budova v sobě skrývá pozůstatky středověké tvrze, o níž máme zprávu z roku 1398 a kterou pravděpodobně vystavěl litomyšlský biskup. The current chateau building hides the remains of a medieval fortress, of which we have a report from 1398 and which was probably built by the Bishop of Litomyšl. In the Renaissance period, the Gothic fortress was further rebuilt, but was not transformed into the castle until the 2nd half of the 17th century. In 1663 Záběhlice was bought by the Saxon prince Julius Jindřich and either he or one of the subsequent owners built a new representative seat from the former fortress, which also included a chapel in the west wing. An extensive fire in 1885 was followed by a radical reconstruction according to the plans of the builder Ferdinand Hauptmann. The project was implemented jointly by architects Cornelius Hauschka and Eduard Rechziegel. The result is the current Neo-Baroque appearance of the chateau, which survived even the period of devastation during the second half of the 20th century. The castle and the adjacent garden are currently inaccessible to the public and the premises are used as administrative space for rent.

Záběhlický zámek stands on the site of a Gothic fortress from the 14th century, it was repeatedly rebuilt to its present form. Today it is in private hands.

It has a peaceful look. A place where you can sit in small but peaceful places and find water.

It is the site of an old manor house, from a medieval fortress to today's psycho-Baroque castle form. You wouldn't count the owners over the ages. Later and today it is used for production - business activities and is not public.
