Je jednou z dvanácti škol postavených v době samosprávy Královských Vinohrad. V letech 1915-17 bylo přistavěno křídlo gymnázia s mateřskou školou ve Slovenské ulici podle návrhu Václava A. Beneše. Mezi známé absolventy patří například herci Jan Čenský, Jitka Molavcová a Vojta Kotek, nebo básník a písničkář Jan Vodňanský. Construction of the Neo-Renaissance school building designed by architect Antonín Turek began in 1902 and was completed a year later. It is one of the twelve schools built during the self-government of so called "King´s Vinohrady". In the years 1915-17, the wing of the grammar school with a kindergarten in Slovenská Street was added according to the design of Václav A. Beneš. Well-known graduates include, for example, actors Jan Čenský, Jitka Molavcová and Vojta Kotek, or poet and songwriter Jan Vodňanský. Čeho si však nesmírně cením je to, že mě dala robustní vědomostní základ pro celý život a umožnila mi se dál vzdělávat specializovaně. Tedy že jsem si mohla dovolit jít na střední uměleckou školu, kde už se z jiných oborů nenaučíte skoro nic a přesto mám dojem, že se neztrapním ani mezi gymnazisty. Nemluvě o výhodě těch, co chtěli jít na gymnázium. Navíc mám ohromně inspirtivní spolužáky, skoro každý je nyní specializován na jiné zajímavé odvětví. Kdo může říct, že se těší na setkání s lidmi ze základní skoly? Yes, it is a difficult school and I must admit that I was rather under the slight stress of not mastering the curriculum that was required. But as a child, I didn't realize it much. What I really appreciate, however, is that it has given me a robust knowledge base for life and allowed me to continue my education in a specialized way. That is, I could afford to go to art high school, where you will learn almost nothing from other fields, and yet I have the impression that I will not be embarrassed even among high school students. Not to mention the benefit of those who wanted to go to high school. In addition, I have tremendously inspiring classmates, almost everyone now specializes in other interesting industries. Who can say they are looking forward to meeting people from primary school?
