V roce 1676 zakoupil Libochovice hrabě Gundakar z Dietrichsteina a brzy nato došlo k požáru ve městě a vyhořel i zámek. Nový pán se pustil se do do plánů stavby monumentálního raně barokního zámku. V letech 1682 – 1690 byl vedením stavby pověřen stavitel Antonio della Porta. Vznikla dvoupatrová budova s obdélníkovým půdorysem s rizalitem v hlavním průčelí. Severní strana je tvořena malým nádvořím u budovy zámku, gotické kaple a nižších hospodářských budov. Roku 1833 byla v kapli mimo jiné skladiště obilí a v pozdějších letech dokonce lihopalnu. Vnitřní nádvoří je z části obklopeno arkádami a parkem, spojených salou terrenou. Výzdobu zámeckého sídla obstaralo mnoho významných umělců. Přestavby kaple, jak ji známe dnes, pocházejí z doby raného baroka a z pozdější doby v roce 1833. V současnosti není bohužel kaple přístupná v rámci ani jediného z návštěvních okruhů. In 1676, Count Gundakar of Dietrichstein bought Libochovice, and soon there was a fire in the city and even castle was burned. The new master embarked on plans for the monumental early Baroque chateau. In the years 1682 - 1690 the architect Antonio della Porta was entrusted with the construction of the building. A two-storey building with a rectangular ground plan with a backyard in the main facade was created. The northern side consists of a small courtyard near the castle building, the Gothic chapel and the lower farm buildings. In 1833, the chapel included, inter alia, a grain storage facility, and even a distillery in the later years. The inner courtyard is partly surrounded by arcades and a park, connected by terraces. The decoration of the manor house was provided by many prominent artists. The reconstruction of the chapel, as we know it today, comes from the Early Baroque period and from a later period in 1833. Unfortunately, the chapel is currently unfortunately not accessible in any of the tours through the all castle objects.
