The park with an area of ​​about 8 hectares was founded at the time of construction of the chateau in 1726 - 1734. Most of the care was taken by Countess Truchsess-Zeil from 1721 to 1828 by Marie Walburg. The pupils of her castle school learned how to take care of the orchard and grow vegetables in the park. It was an English park consisting of groups of mature trees that the Countess had planted throughout the Kunín surroundings, including exotic trees, with a herbal palate consisting mainly of anemones, primroses, lungworts and bear garlic. There were streams with bridges and a pond. Between 1833 and 1880, a heated greenhouse with orangery and palm trees was built. Utility plants were grown in smaller greenhouses. There was a gardener's house and a skittle alley in the park, lined with stone walls and a pulley fence. In the vicinity of the church stood a poplar with a connected chestnut alley. After 1945 the park and the chateau became the property of the state. It was later taken over by the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno. Rare trees had to retreat to the football field, dilapidated greenhouses and a skittle alley, water management was disrupted, and the remaining trees died due to waterlogging. The current area of ​​the park is 4.4 ha. The area became the property of the village in 1999 and reconstructed in 2006 under the name of the Chateau Park in Kunín - a fairytale garden in Poodří. I was here before the reconstruction, the difference is unreal, you can see a huge piece of good work! Worth a visit!
