About Zámek Štiřín

Budovy hospodářského dvora – Dům Salm, Jockey a Arminia doplňují areál o další ubytovací a konferenční prostory.

If you want relaxing, good sleep and good eat. I’m seriously recommend this hotel. Very good for family with children’s,for friends, for married place and for golf.... Have good wine & have good service. Near many nice places. This hotel just 30 minutes from Prague. 5 minutes from hotel beer factory - Velkopopovicky Kozel. Possible to visit incide factory, tasting different beer and of course good food.

We came for an outdoors opera performance, and had dinner at the hotel's restaurant. The staff barely spoke English, but were friendly. The Greek salad and pork dish we ordered were well prepared and delicious. The grounds are beautifully manicured (it's also a golf resort), and strolling through them was very pleasant. It is 30 minutes from the center of Prague, but you need a car to get there. Worth visiting!

There is so much going for Zamek Stirin, but it is such a shame the management don't want to realise that potential. For all those choosing to stay, you should note that this place is treated as as a golf club first and a hotel second. First impressions are everything and Zamek Stirin makes sure to set the bar low. For some reason they have decided to close the reception in the original chateau. The welcome you could get - driving up the original, cobbled driveway, arriving at the double-oak doors and walking inside to find a curving Imperial staircase before passing through the entrance hall to the reception area for check-in - has been replaced, sending customers through the back gate of the property and into the golf club house, a most hideous building that looks like a child's sandcastle, built out of wet sand. Unfortunately our underwhelming experiences didn't end with the golf club reception desk. The picnic we had ordered for our arrival (it was part of the package we had booked) was not ready - they ended up giving us the basket of a guest who was late (we subsequently had a lovely picnic in the chateau gardens). Our massage appointment was moved by half an hour and only when I pointed out that this would now clash with our 8pm dinner reservation was I told that the restaurant in fact closed at 8pm with last orders at 7pm - why wasn't I told this when I booked the table two days prior? We ultimately decided to cancel our massage and re-booked a table for dinner at 6pm. Dinner was mediocre. The menu was limited. At 8.20pm, we were sent packing to our rooms. That was it for the night, time to go to bed - no bar or anything else left for us to do in the hotel/golf club. The one redeeming factor was the waiter who did the best he could in the circumstances. Breakfast was dire. A buffet served until 10am, by 9.20am (when we arrived) most of the food was gone and not replenished. The hot food, which must have been out since breakfast started, had now gone cold. The pastries were good, but only in comparison to the rest of the food. For a hotel in such a secluded location, with limited other options, the food is an essential element and Zamek Stirin has failed miserably here. There is pub/restaurant a short walk away but on a narrow road that would dangerous to walk in the dark. We didn't try it, but likely a preferable option to eating on-site. What is most unfortunate about all of this is that the chateau was actually beautiful, the grounds stunning and our room was impressive. We stayed in the Arminia building, a more recently upgraded farm building just behind the original chateau. The room was large, with a separate hallway, a generous sitting area and a huge bathroom. The decor was in-keeping with the original style of the chateau, but modern. The big miss here was not adding a shower to the bathroom (there was a handheld shower head attached to the bath) - there was more than enough space in the bathroom to add a separate walk-in shower, but I would have been happy with a shower over the bath. The quality of the linen was also poor, with the towels thin, course and wearing through (some with holes). I'll finish this review restating my earlier comment; this place is managed as a golf club first. The hotel experience is an afterthought. Two-star service with a four-star bedroom. With a few simple changes, this could be a great place. (I should add that the staff were pleasant - they seemed to be just left picking up the pieces of poor decisions made by management).

A perfect stay! Very quiet, nice staff, spacious rooms. Good restorant, not a wide meniu, but the food is really good. The czech beer is very good, sa close to heaven!!! The entrence is located close to the building of the restorant not near the hotel.

Just had a wonderful lunch in your restaurant Atis with great service but our experience at your Reception was terrible. Very unfriendly attitude when we requested information on the golf course and how to exit the car park because the machine did not take our credit card. We are regular visitors to Stirin for many years so disappointing.

We enjoyed the spacious room and the garden view. I could see that maintenance was needed but overall it was comfortable. It's old building but room was warm, we appreciated the matching furniture. You can go for a nice stroll at the park which takes about 45mins to complete.
