There is probably nothing very interesting on the bridge, but it is an icon of Rataj nad Sázavou and perhaps everyone who has been here knows it.

The construction of this bridge over the Sázava was one of the most demanding technical works on the local line from Kolín to Čerčany via Rataj nad Sázavou. With its width - 70 meters between the outer abutments - the bridge near Ratají ranks among the railway bridges with the largest span in the territory of Bohemia. The bridge crosses the river with a single field with a total length of 72.6 meters. The end supports have stone block tiles. The bridge deck consists of two riveted lattice girders with an arched upper flange and a lower bridge deck. The bridge, completed in 1899, was built by Ing. Osvalda Životského. The photogenic bridge and the surrounding nature have already starred in many Czech films.
