★ ★ ★ ★ ★ První zmínka o loštickém židovském hřbitově je z roku 1554. V provozu byl nepřetržitě až do válečného roku 1942, kdy proběhl poslední pohřeb.
V době založení hřbitova na českém území vládl král Ferdinand I., v roce 1942 jsme měli prezidenta exilové vlády v Londýně. Byl jím doktor Edvard Beneš. To jen pro zarámování historických souvislostí.
Na hřbitově bylo prý až 6000 hrobů. Dnes je zde památek na zemřelé jen nepatrný zlomek. Hlavně proto, že z židovských obyvatel po válce nezbyl prakticky nikdo.
The first mention of the Lostice Jewish cemetery dates from 1554. It was in operation continuously until the war year of 1942, when the last burial took place.
At the time of the founding of the cemetery in the Czech territory, King Ferdinand I ruled, in 1942 we had the president of the government in exile in London. It was Dr. Edvard Beneš. Just to frame the historical context.
It is said that there were up to 6,000 graves in the cemetery. Today there are only a small fraction of the monuments to the dead. Mainly because there were practically none of the Jewish population left after the war.
