It's an amazing piece of Czech history. It should only be better cared for. You can reach the castle along forest roads that are not entirely suitable for mums with prams.

Peace, quiet, lots of hiking trails

A great ruin, made directly for accommodation, but there are frequent emissions from society, recently there was a camp with 30 children. Well, it was horror and horror.

The surroundings are beautiful, I'm glad that at least something has been preserved from the castle itself. I still remember the halberds leaning next to Čapek's monument, but it's been a long time since they disappeared. Ideal for a summer afternoon walk. I've been here countless times, but I never get tired.

Only the ruins of the lower floor of the residential buildings and the massive defensive walls have survived from the castle itself. The castle is on a rocky promontory above the stream, completely hidden in a predominantly coniferous forest. It's definitely worth seeing, but I point out the more difficult approach. And personal observation - if you go by car like myself by google map, navigation will lead you to an unprotected railroad crossing in the middle of the forest and will tell you that you are at your destination. The problem is that you are still about 1.5 km from the castle itself. :-) Then you have two options - either continue by car further down the road, where the cottage settlement is and from it to the forest path on foot, or as I choose a shortcut along the railway line. After about 300 meters, turn left and walk down the path to a beautiful wooden hut hidden in the woods. Right below it, you must cross the stream by wading. Behind the creek is a meadow (after rains it is waterlogged) and behind it is a forest-covered hill. Get off a few tens of meters until you get to the road. Follow it up right. At the top of the hill, the road crosses another path. It is even wider and reinforced. Take it to the right and follow the yellow hiking trail to reach the castle within moments.

Beautiful nature. According to Google, driving is better, so shorter, but a parking space must be found. Otherwise, the ruin is usually only one hole with a wall. Otherwise nice.

The route to the ruins is not marked, you can park behind the railway crossing in the village of Ve Žlabě. From there I took a forest path along the creek. I left a motorcycle at the last cottage and it was really a bit of my own. About 400 m. On the way to the ruins there are nice views, many pictures of the landscape along the stream seduce to love. You can't miss the spruce on Ronovec. A beautiful giant.
