In 1903, the Žamberk factory of the Vonwiller company burned down, and after the construction of a more modern factory with better quality machinery, many people lost their jobs. Therefore, it was decided to build a state administrative building. During the years 1904–1905, projects were developed, which were gradually expanded until the start of construction in 1907. The construction was completed after two years of work. In the end, the building housed the district governor's office, the tax office, the district court with a prison and the land office. The building served the state administration until 1960. After the abolition of the Žamberk district, the majestic building covered the primary school and agricultural school, and after its abolition in 1976, the current primary school.
