★ ★ ★ ★ ★ THESE FOLKS ARE THIEVES! BE SURE TO READ THE "SMALL PRINT." Upon learning that they have no reception, I became concerned about arriving at 1:00am due to a late transatlantic flight, and I tried to cancel my reservation. You'll notice that it is very difficult to reach the property and there is no voicemail.
When I finally reached the proprietor 5 days before my arrival, she said someone could meet me in the street and hand over the keys. As a woman traveling alone, I did not feel this was a safe option. I also read a review that complained they were not able to reach the proprietor when they arrived in Prague. I could not risk this in the middle of the night, so I asked for a refund with a customary and reasonable fee to reflect the safety issue.
The proprietor refused to accept my cancellation, yelled at me on the phone, called me "strange", and threatened to charge my credit card for the entire amount - which she did the next day.
I was charged the full amount of my 5 night booking $557, though I opted not to take the risk of staying at the hotel. This was highway robbery, and I have no doubt that in the height of summer they booked the room again. The proprietor was most unprofessional and confirmed my concern about safety.
