What a fantastic hotel in a perfect position to explore a beautiful City. Everything is right on the doorstep and within walking distance... including the Old Square and plenty of restaurants and bars. I contacted the hotel ahead of travelling with my wife and explained it was a surprise for our Silver wedding anniversary and I would welcome some advice on where to go on our first visit to Prague. Tereza, the manager, replied promptly and said they would ensure it would be a memorable visit and when we arrived the room we were given had two floors and was amazing, we also found a bottle of champagne and chocolates waiting for us in the room. If we get another opportunity to visit Prague we would definitely look to book into this hotel again... brilliant!! And thanks again Tereza for making it extra enjoyable :)

Nice decor. I was in a junior suite on the fifth floor (which was also the top floor); it seemed larger than I expected, but the ceilings were a bit low, and the roof slowly angled down towards the floor part way across the living room, so the room while seeming large did not actually have the entire space available to walk around in, as far as I can tell. The biggest issue (and this is important for business visitors rather than tourists) was that the WiFi network service was absolutely terrible. Nearly unusable. I was attending a conference at a nearby hotel, and ended up hanging around there some nights late into the evening just so I could take a Skype call with my wife who was at home -- we knew from a previous night that carrying on a conversation in the Barcelo was not workable.

Dear Sir / Madam, I am writing in resort of a recent stay at your hotel 5-9/7/2016, Room 402 and of the disappointment we felt at the mismatch between the website and the reality we encountered. Reception. Having arrived by air, bus and metro at the Hotel, we were kept waiting some time. On being attended to, and despite other arrives receiving a complementary glass of sparkling wine on arrival, as described in your booking information, no such offer was made to us. This didn’t bode well for our stay, booked to celebrate my birthday. The general knowledge of the reception staff was adequate, but only just as regards locations and routes as well as travel within the city. Room My partner had specifically requested a room with a separate sitting area. This we got albeit on two levels. The wardrobe being downstairs, was particularly unhelpful and some distance down polished wood steps, every time a change of clothing or luggage check was required, down we had to go. If we wanted to use the minibar or coffee making facilities, down the stairs we went again! In this area the carpet was loose and coming away from the walls. The room was of generally reasonable quality, although the bedside lighting was loose in its fitting and provided insufficient light to read, The switches for the bedside lights were locate sone 12 inches behind the bed on the wall, making it difficult to operate them without getting in and out of bed. The bed itself was larger and reasonably comfortable although the secondary mattress appeared to fit imperfectly on top of the first. The bedroom furniture was of inferior quality and in places was chipped and very worn and tired, The wi-fi in the room, despite the router booster under the bed (???) was poor. In the main bathroom, the ceiling was discoloured from water penetration and cracked away from the walls in several places. Sealant around the toilet, as in the sitting room toilet was cracked and flaking as well as discoloured. The shoer arrangement was apparently intended for a dwarf and the secondary shower head fixing was inflexible and difficult to use. The booking publicity promised a certain brand of toiletries which were not forthcoming on arrival and only spotted on a chambermaid’s trolley. We had to ask for the room to be stocked with these. Toiletries and consumables such as coffees were not routinely re-stocked as one would expect in an hotel claiming four star status. The air conditioning in this garret /attic room was inadequate for purpose and we returned to the over-heated room after a day out to find that it had often been switched off by staff, presumably! We could not open the windows at night due to the noise from the restaurant in the alley below. There were so many light switches in so many different locations, we never did master the complexities of the lighting system. Dining. Breakfast was an experience. The variety of foods on offer was welcome and perhaps the only true indication of aspiration to being a four star hotel. The staff, however, with one exception were surly, apparently deeply unhappy and very uncommunicative. When my partner wanted an omelette cooked there was rarely anyone to ask for one. On taking a boiled egg from the supply it was found to be barely cooked, it looked disgusting. On pointing this out to staff it was examined and taken away.No apology was offered and no replacement or alternative suggested or proffered. There were frequent long queues for the single coffee machine, which was often out of water, slow and frankly delivered indifferent coffee. The fruit juices had clearly been watered-down. We chose the Barcelo Prague Old town because of location / 4 star rating. It was not inexpensive, but appeared worth the money. The experience was distinctly to prove otherwise. None of these faults were unavoidable. No room checking, room service or quality control appeared to have taken place. I await your response to these complaints before contemplating further action. A lovely hotel in a great location. Walking distance to everything. I had a junior suite and mine had a roof terrace (508) which was a great place to chill after walking around. A good breakfast and friendly staff.

Beautiful hotel in a good location for tourists. It's in the middle of shopping and all the attractions. The staff got us a last minute reservation to La Dégustation so I love them even more. It looked difficult to drive in the area around the hotel due to the throngs of tourists so you may not want to bring a car.

Very comfortable hotel. Interesting and a little quirky. Bed is good - my room has plenty of space and my colleague apparently has a separate staircase in his room ! Bar and breakfast both good / classy / very comfortable surroundings

Beautiful interior and excellent location! We had a junior suite and the room was just perfect. Spacious, modern renovation and tasteful design of an old building. Very clean hotel and the staff was polite at all times. We were expecting a joined bed and we received two singles, pushed together. Not a big deal but annoying. Breakfast was ok but nothing special - the coffee was awful unfortunately, and we always skipped it for some cafe afterwards.

This eclectic boutique hotel is in a great location in Prague. I love the small touches like the bright, light rooms which are comfortable yet spacious. the rooms on the 4th floor log on to a lovely courtyard below. The shower and bathroom area is very clean and accessible. The rooms are kept at an excellent temperature which can be controlled by the guest. The on-site restaurant has tasty food and drinks and is serviced by a courteous kind staff. While the menu isn't very large, there is an adequate selection for any palette. There are plenty of seats indoors and out and a coffee maker in the lobby. Overall, you will be guaranteed a lovely, comfortable stay in a bustling city, at a very reasonable price for the amenities offered.
