Renesanční Bílá věž je nejvyšší dominantou města (72 m), z jejichž ochozů se otvírá návštěvníkům jedinečný pohled nejen na Hradec Králové, ale i na vzdálené vrcholky Krkonoš a Orlických hor. V posledních letech ožila věž výstavami, stala se centrem akcí cestovního ruchu a kultury. A z dlouholetého spánku se uvnitř Bílé věže probudil i třetí největší zvon v České republice - Augustin.

V Bílé věži, zhruba 35 metrů nad zemí, je zavěšen druhý nejtěžší a největší zvon v Čechách. Jeho spodní průměr je 206 cm, hmotnost asi 8000 kg a nárazový tón zvonu je C1. Poprvé se rozezněl v roce 1509 ze dřevěné zvonice, protože město nemělo takovou věž, do které by mohlo tak těžký a velký zvon zavěsit. Tak musel zvon čekat 72 let, a to až do roku 1581, kdy byl vytažen na Bílou věž. Zvonění na městský zvon bývalo u příležitosti zahájení a skončení výročních trhů, při nebezpečí ohně, ke svolávání městské rady nebo při jiných slavných nebo nebezpečných okamžicích pro město Hradec Králové. Na zvon se nezvonilo pravidelně. Od roku 1705 je zasvěcen sv. Augustinovi. Protože do věže udeřil blesk, začalo vedení města pátrat po příčině. Zjistilo se, že zvon s největší pravděpodobností nebyl posvěcen, což tedy na žádost městského magistrátu učinil roku 1705 biskup Tobiáš Jan Becker. V roce 1850 a v roce 1903 srdce zvonu puklo.

M	Martin Rohr on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful sight, especially after the reconstruction the interior is very nice. I loved the view and screens that show photos from around 100 years ago and new photos in comparison. Glass model is nice as well, but not the main thing I would come to see.

The interactive touchscreens to help you learn as you climb, you'll feel much more educated on the tower by the tone you leave and as it has the highest vantage point of the city there's great views

There are interactive boards inside the tower with information about the culture in the city and its history, tasks and puzzles, and also a beautiful glass model of the tower. Lots of stairs there, including newly built "flying" construction (so if you hate to see under your feet, keep this in mind), pretty steep but safe.
A	Aleš Rumpel on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bílá věž was recently restored and is worth visiting not just for the views of the city from the conservation deck, but as a demonstration of beautiful contemporary "small architecture" - the staircase and the railings are very chic. The dramatic lighting and moody music may be a little campy, but why not. There is also a light installation of the model of the tower and multimedia panels with historical information.

The tower is in the middle of the 11th century town square. It was lovingly and expertly restored into a worthy attraction. The view at the top is breathtaking, you can see the town of Hradec Kralove and surrounding areas laid out beautifully in a 360-degree panorama. On the way up the tower you will see th the bell and the cleverly restored platforms, a lot of thoughts went into the design of this place. A thoroughly enjoyable visit.
