★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sometimes you get out of Prague and you think time stopped 25 years ago and the coffee dirty dishwater and the cakes are completely synthetic.
This is NOT one of those places.
Karvarna Republika is an oasis in Doksy, serving the best cakes and coffee within a hundred kilometers and competing quite favorably against the best coffee cafes in Prague.
Cool smooth atmosphere, great eclectic music mixes, good high speed internet, it’s a different place for a lot of people. To the local young crowd it’s the best hangout in town. To the families it’s a good place to go with the kids to satisfy a desert craving, for the tourists a nice stop on their bicycle or walking tour.
