★ ★ ★ ★ ★ На южной стороне Нижней (сейчас Масарика) площади на месте нескольких снесенных домов в июне 1628 года в присутствии императора Фердинанда II заложен монастырский комплекс капуцинов с церковью св. Иоанна Крестителя (Kostel svatého Jana Křtitele). Окончено строительство в 1632 году.

On the southern side of the Lower (now Masaryk) Square, on the site of several demolished houses in June 1628, in the presence of Emperor Ferdinand II, a Capuchin monastery complex with the Church of St. John the Baptist (Kostel svatého Jana Křtitele). The construction was completed in 1632.
The temple has a single-nave plan, typical of the Capuchins, with a rectangular altar and modest decoration. The image on the altar of the hand of the Austrian artist Johann Lucas Kracker. The square building of the monastery adjoins the church on the southwest side. A Baroque monastery garden was created between the monastery complex and the inner city wall.
In 1754, a chapel was built in the wall separating the monastery from the square, which depicts a scene from the Mount of Olives. The monastery belonged to the Capuchin order until 1950. Later, a tourist hostel was founded here. The monastery is currently awaiting its future use.
