Dolní Počernice

The first written mention of the village Počernice dates back to 1323, when the local owner Zdislav of Počernice and Průhonice, called Donut, is mentioned. Originally a Gothic fortress stood on the site of the present chateau, first mentioned in 1401. In the second half of the 18th century it was rebuilt into a double-wing chateau. From 1664 to 1769, the Counts of Colloredo-Wallsee held Dolní Počernice. They also gave the chateau its present appearance. In 1856 the Hungarian noble Dercznyi family settled here, to whom Počernice belonged until 1923, when they were bought by the Prague municipality. The building now includes both the so-called old mansion, which was built around 1780 (two-winged two-story building situated closer to the church), and a new mansion built according to the design of architect V. Sigmund in 1870. The garden has preserved the remnants of original baroque architecture on plinths or staircase with terrace. Today the chateau is used as a children's home.
