The village of Velký Dubeč was first mentioned in 1088, when Vratislav II. donated some land of the Vyšehrad Chapter. There was a fortress in Dubč already in the 14th century. It was built by rich Prague burghers. Apparently, around 1400 they added a new fortress in its close neighborhood. It was rebuilt in the Renaissance style in the second half of the 16th century by the Zápští family of Zápy. Since 1623 the fortress was abandoned and only its remains have been preserved. In 1970, a survey was conducted here. Preserved masonry is probably a residential building about 15 meters long and about 25 meters wide. Fragments of letter sgraffito were found on the outside of this wall on the northeast corner.

The village of Dubec can boast not only the manor garden. The crocodile museum is also interesting.
