Smaller spaces, but even so we spent almost 2 hours here. You can try most puppets yourself, so children won't want to leave. An ideal place to visit with children when the weather is not favorable.

The impressive prismatic tower tower was part of the original city fortification. The older part of the fortification walls of the original town´s core was built during the reign of Václav I. At the end of the 14th century, the town was expanded in the northern, eastern and southern direction and the construction of new walls, in particular with battlements and prismatic towers begun. In 1705 the tower was rebuilt in it´s upper part as the baroque sightseeing pavilion. Since 2012 there is the Puppet Museum in it.
The Gothic system of fortifications, which has survived to this day, has been built in two stages. The inner wall dates back to the years 1360 - 1380. It is ten meters high, up to two meters thick with jagged battlements and prismatic towers. The outer parc wall, originally 4.5 meters high, was built around 1513 and maintained at a height of about three meters, up to 1.2 meters thick with several horseshoe bastions. And the western tower was in 1705 modified as a lookout pavilion called the Jesuit Observatory.
