We loved visiting here as we were crossing over the bridge. It was a welcome 90 minute break from sight seeing for the children to play and have loads of fun. They particularly enjoyed the hands-on exhibits and we learned so much about film effects.

The museum is interesting and interactive. You can experience some film effects by yourself. The kids can have fun here too.

Semi-hands on museum that is better for older kids (teenage years) and adults. The exhibits showed the creativity Zeman used to create special effects in early film. It was quite interesting.

Very nice small private museum. Unlike, the other private museums that feel like tourist traps this one is not it. We enjoyed the detailed history of the movie making process for Karel Zeman. After we left we looked up a few of his movies and watched one that night. Very nice museum.

This place is simply amazing and for sure I will visit it again next time în Prague. I felt like a kid at the science class, discovering all sort of machines, tehniques, and trying them. I also enjoyed the posibility of watching scenes from the movies, wich helped me to have a better image of every thing I've seen here.

Near the Charles Bridge there is a unique museum. It's the Karel Zeman Museum (Muzeum Karla Zemana) is on 3 of Saská street, Praha 1 - Malá Strana, Czech Republic. This interactive exhibition presents the life's work of the genius creator Karel Zeman and his cinematic tricks that made Czech cinematography famous. The exhibition presents the life work of world-renowned filmmaker Karel Zeman and his cinematic special effects that made Czech cinematography famous. It maps Zeman’s creative work from the first animated and puppet films in the 1940s to the work of his last creative period. A substantial part of the exhibition is devoted to his most essential films - Journey to the Beginning of Time, Jules Verne, and Baron Munchausen. The museum is unique because of its playful concept - it gives you the opportunity to participate and try special effect practices that Karel Zeman used in his films using on your own cameras and camcorders. The exhibition is conceived as film sets and studios with small studios where you can walk through and film in action. Opening hours: - January – December: Whole week from 10:00 – 19:00 Entrance fee: - Basic: 250 CZK - Reduced: 160 CZK - Family: 490 CZK

Wonderful, I loved how the little tricks before CGI became common are presented: not only do they explain it with text, they show us with videos and with interactive tools as well. For example, you could try riding the bike from one of the films. The tickets are a bit pricey but they reflect the quality of the museum.

We enjoyed the museum so much. Plenty of hands on experiences for the little one and lots of info and unknown insights for us. Definitely a must visit in Prague.
