A wonderful train station

Symbol of 80ties, metro station in the middle of panel houses city. Not many things changed here since then. A new church is a positive example. Some other buildings are newly painted or decorated, some falling apart. Architecture and public space around doesn't make much sense still. Will it become a culture heritage one day? Who knows.

The final station Háje is excavated 11 meters below the surface, with a total length of 515 meters, including two turning tracks and two parking tracks. It has two vestibules - the western, connected to the platform by a fixed staircase, and the eastern, from which three escalators lead to the platform. At the west vestibule, there is a bus terminal, where the suburban PID line ends in the direction of Černý Kostelec region. For barrier-free access, there is a personal lift that connects the level of the vestibule with the level of the platform of line C of the metro. A passenger elevator moving on a sloping track is located parallel to the escalator from the lobby to the subway platform. The former name of the station was "(of) Cosmonauts" - it is reminiscent of the Cosmonauts Sculpture by sculptor Jan Bartoš located near the bus terminal. It presents cosmonauts Vladimír Remek and Alexei Gubarev. The sculptural group stands here because at the time they flew on their mission, this station was being completed. Konečná stanice Háje je hloubená 11 metrů pod povrchem, o celkové délce 515 metrů, včetně dvou obratových a dvou odstavných kolejí. Má dva vestibuly – západní, spojený s nástupištěm pevným schodištěm, a východní, z něhož vedou k nástupišti tři eskalátory. U západního vestibulu se nachází terminál autobusů, kde končí příměstské linky PID směrem na Černokostelecko. Pro bezbariérový přístup slouží osobní výtah, který spojuje úroveň vestibulu s úrovní nástupiště trati C metra. Osobní výtah pohybující se po šikmé dráze je umístěn souběžně s pohyblivými schody z vestibulu na nástupiště metra. Bývalý název stanice "Kosmonautů" připomíná také Sousoší kosmonautů od sochaře Jana Bartoše nacházející se poblíž autobusového terminálu. Představuje kosmonauty Vladimíra Remka a Alexeje Gubareva. Sousoší tu stojí proto, že v době, kdy letěli na svou misi, byla tato stanice dokončována.
