Holečkovy sady was founded in the 1930s around the historic center of Tábor. The space was named after the important writer and translator Josef Holeček. Simultaneously with the modification of the premises outside the walls, a new entrance was excavated from Mikuláš na Husi Square to Holečkovy sady - Mariánská brána. The main promenade footpath leads in the highest part of the park along the originally park wall and the demolished Klokot fortna, around the Soukenická and Žižka bastions.
