About Hospůdka pod Skalou
The hotel is located at the right bank of Otava river, 300 m far from Pisek city centre, in quiet and romantic surroundings of protected City historical monument zone. From the hotel, there is a nice view of Otava river, weir Podskalsky, and city island. There, the shots of movies "Moon over the river" and "Silver wind" were taken, as according to piece of Czech poet Frana Sramek.
The right photograph presents a hotel, surrounded in red frame, behind the willow overgrowth.
Right next to the hotel, there is a swimming pool. By the Otava river. you may find summer bathing pool, called "Saint Wenceslas lido". The city keeps several sport areas and cultural facilities, which serve the citizens as well as visitors. The theatre, summer cinema, cinema Portyc, Druzba discotheque centre, Culture Club at the river embankment, all of these are very popular. Sportsmen shall find several areas with playgrounds for soccer, handball, tennis and athletics, as well as areas for canoeing, sport halls and ice-hockey arena, ski ramp with artificial surface, motorsport arena at Hradiste, etc., all fully available for them.
Directly in the front of the hotel, in direction leading to river, there is a nice place to look for a comfortable seat and a small refreshment.
The hotel is opened for turists only in July and August.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Velmi příjemné posezení venku u řeky. Něco na zub z grilu, dobré pivko, co víc si přát. Snad jen nějaká hudební produkce na pódiu, které je součástí zahrádky :).
Very pleasant sitting outside by the river. Something to eat from the grill, good beer, what more could you want. Perhaps just some music production on the stage, which is part of the garden :).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Příjemná hospůdka s nádherným výhledem na řeku. Milá a pohledná obsluha, pivo Platan výborné a hlavně jídlo z grilu bylo naprosto luxusní. Kuřecí, klobása i grilovaná kukuřice bez chyby. Ceny lidové.
Pleasant pub with a beautiful view of the river. Nice and handsome service, Platan beer excellent and especially the food from the grill was absolutely luxurious. Chicken, sausage and grilled corn without a mistake. Folk prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mylně jsem se domníval, že je zdejší hospoda s terasou nad řekou trochu stranou a bude tu jen pár hostů. Opak byl pravdou, bylo tu od brzkého večera plno, mnoho místních, je vidět, že jde o oblíbený podnik. Nakonec jsem našel volné místo až kolem desáté večerní, naštěstí pan majitel ještě griloval, tak jsem ochutnal zdejší kuřecí steak v domácí marinádě a byla to mňamka! Ty nejjednodušší recepty jsou prostě k nezaplacení. Čepovaný Platan 11° byl také výtečný, dále je na čepu i Kozel 11°.

The opposite was true, it was crowded early in the evening, many locals, it can be seen that it is a popular place. In the end I found a vacancy around ten o'clock in the evening, fortunately the owner was still grilling, so I tasted the local chicken steak in a homemade marinade and it was yummy! The simplest recipes are simply priceless. The tapped Platan 11° was also excellent, the Kozel 11° is also on the pin.
