Still this is a great place to rest while doing your all day track in Sumava mountains.
f	frank klatil on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's 14:18 and there is no food. At least that is what the staff tells the Czech speaking people waiting in the line. Beverages only. Some people grumbled but all went away hungry. This is totally outrageous, in my humble opinion.
L	Luboš Květ on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The only cottage in countryside. During winter is quite small place for such a big demand. You will typically wait about hour to sit down. I've tried 2 meals, but only one of them was great.

Bučina is some 1200m above sea level close to German border and Finsterau. You will find small outside exposition of iron curtain in front of the hotel. Alpská vyhlídka looks quite big but mostly thanks to hotel amenities. The restaurant itself is quite small so expect to que when the terrace is closed. You don't have other possibilities as Kvilda is some 7 km far and no other restaurants are nearby. The restaurant offers choice of traditional Czech dishes. All of them are well prepared and brought to your table quick enough. The staff is cheerfull and friendly. The only reproach I have is that the place get quite busy and you have to wait for the table and that the menu is quite simple. But the meal is perfect.
J	Jan Vrzal on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beatiful location with a very sad history. The hotel has a terrace overlooking the place. Beer was nicely cold, cakes delicious, whipped cream home-made and not from a can. Next to the hotel is a replica of the iron curtain fence and a guard tower that used to be on the Czech-German and Czech-Austrian borders during the Cold War era. Be aware that the place is closed for cars - you can only come there by foot or by bike.
M	Miroslav Tomáš Janoušek on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is okay, rather lower side of average. But after a bike trip or a hike, it is all fine. However, they do not accept credit cards (in a pension!). One might ask how they taxes are looking... But that seems to be a habit in Sumava after COVID. On the other hand, I do not think that the guests should play this game, mainly when there are barely any ATMs in the national park, and you have to pay several hundreds for food.
