Nejvýznamnější pohřbenou osobností zde je bezesporu místní rodák Antonín Švehla, ministerský předseda v době první republiky a blízký přítel T.G. Masaryka. Hrob s monolitem navrhl sám Josip Plečnik. The oldest cemetery was originally located in Hostivař directly at Stětí sv. John the Baptist. It was abolished, as did many others, in 1784 by the decree of Joseph II, which banned burying in the middle of inhabited communities. The new hostage cemetery on the hill above the village was founded in the first half of the 19th century and some gravestones from the old cemetery were transferred here. The new cemetery is divided into the old and new parts. The most important buried personality is undoubtedly local native Antonín Švehla, Prime Minister at the time of the First Republic and a close friend of T.G. Masaryk. The grave with monolith was designed by Josip Plečnik himself.

It was originally next to the church, after its abolition a new cemetery was built in the street To the lake. Politician Antonín Švehla is buried here. The cemetery is quite small, but well maintained. Today, this cemetery is a historical monument.

Nejstarší Hostivařský hřbitov, hezky udržovaný s čestným pohřebištěm padlých Československých vojáků.
The oldest Hostivař cemetery, nicely maintained with an honorary burial ground of fallen Czechoslovak soldiers.
