If you want to live in the jungle, this is your place. Cheap rent, mediocre installations, and a stay full of surprises. A really Czech experience, the personal doesn't speak English, and they won't even try to understand you. I'm serious, you won't know what's living here until you come here and stay for some time

Cool Dorm with lovely, friendly staff and nice barbecue spot. Perfect place to sneak away to and dance the weekend away ?

My friend moved in here on a Sunday. I tagged along to be a required hand for moving luggage. We arrived here on a cold Sunday evening from Germany. We got excellent service, the staff were super friendly. We got the keys and smiles.

Just... It should be closed because it's been a couple of years that the place is infested by bedbugs and they can't get rid of them... And sometimes they don't try hard enough to get rid of them. But even without bedbugs, this wouldn't be a nice place to stay. People working here 90% of times doesn't speak English at all, a problem in a dormitory where 20% of people are Erasmus students, plus the full time students coming from abroad Many times the receptionist use this communication impossibility to use their power as they want (ex: washing machines are available 24/7 according to the contract bu they just won't give you the keys after 9 pm) If you are locked outside your room because of your roommate and they have copy of the key, they won't help you except if you show them the document proving that you live here... Document that often is in your room. (our simple idea is: you come with me, open the door and if I show the document that proves that is my room everything is solved, otherwise that is not my room you can lock it again) they just don't care of people living there. Almost all the rooms of Erasmus students are double and the single ones are privilege only for few... The problem is that double rooms are not bigger so they can host two people, they have the SAME SIZE, only with two beds, two desks, two wardrobes... You can see that just there is not enough space for living. Also bathrooms are... Peculiar: ugly, cold (the shower room has a radiator but it doesn't work) and many others lovely adjectives to describe it We were also told by the head of the dormitory not to eat in the kitchens (which are few of the common areas) but anyone in our room... so that our room would smell bad (often windows can't be opened) and sounds could be reduced (because there's a strict policy of zero noise after 10 pm. But most of Spanish guys just have dinner after 10 and if they did it together... It couldn't be accepted by the central administration)

Cleaning staff very unprofessional! I checked out and moved out a month ago and they asked me to see the cleaning lady. The cleaning lady saw my room and kept shouting and swearing in Czech. Asking me questions like “why are you here? You shouldnt be here! Ty vole etc”. Very unprofessional, I do not recommend the place to anyone.

Located in north-west of Prague, 8 min walk to Petriny metro station, close to tram lines 1,2, 22 and 25, and bus stations or different lines, this dormitory is a favorable place for student life because of its closeness to many parks 15 minutes to Ladronka and Obora Hvezda, and 6 minutes to Brevnov monastery’s beautiful orangery and the cherry garden behind it. There are also some restaurants and pubs close to it apart from its own café: Le Fakap café! The nearby chain supermarkets of Billa and Kaufland are convenient placrs to buy groceries. Some of the rooms are renovated which are very comfortable and clean and the other rooms are being renovated little by little, which give you a vintage feeling.

We know it is not a five-star hotel, but it is all you need if you are an Erasmus student. The neighborhood in which Hvezda is placed is nice, with lots of parks, restaurants, supermarkets, Brenov Monastery (where you can find the best beer in Prague) and banks. It is very well communicated with the city center (25 min by metro from Petriny) and also by bus and tram. It is only 35 min away from the airport. Kitchens and bathrooms are shared with your floor (20-40 people) BUT they are cleaned every day from Monday to Friday. Bedlines are changed every two weeks. Rooms are not so big, but enough to live for some university years (there are single and double rooms). Block 2 is Erasmus block. There is a canteen, cinema room, party room for free, and a gym that cost 8€ per month. Also Fakap bar is really cheap and nice, and is placed in the dorm. Most of the recepcionist are nice (not the mustache guy). I really recommend you coming here if you are an Erasmus student or if your faculty is close. I found amazing people living in Hvezda, I'm sure you will also find them.
