★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Obec je (nejen železničním) centrem středního Posázaví. Vlakem jsou skvěle dostupné a nabízí dobrý odrazový můstek k výletům do okolí. Archeologické nálezy na počátku 20. století prozrazují slovanské osídlení obce a jejího okolí, písemný doklad však zatím nemáme. První písemná zmínka o Čerčanech pochází z roku 1356. Tehdy "Černčany" získal koupí od Arnošta z Poříčí pan Ondřej z Dubé, pán na Zlenicích a nejvyšší zemský sudí u dvora krále Václava IV. K opravdovému zviditelnění obce přispěla počátkem 70. let 19. století právě výstavba železnice Františka Josefa I. z Prahy do Českých Budějovic. Od 20. let vznikaly v sousedství Čerčan trampské osady.
The village is (not only the railway) center of central Posázaví. They are easily accessible by train and offer a good springboard for trips to the surrounding area. Archaeological finds at the beginning of the 20th century reveal the Slavic settlement of the village and its surroundings, but we do not yet have a written document. The first written mention of Čerčany dates from 1356. At that time, "Černčany" was acquired by Arnošt of Poříčí, Mr. Ondřej of Dubá, lord of Zlenice and the highest provincial judge at the court of King Wenceslas IV. The construction of the Francis Joseph I Railway from Prague to České Budějovice contributed to the real visibility of the village in the early 1970s. Tramp settlements have been established in the Čerčany neighborhood since the 1920s.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Člověk se trmácí necelé dvě hodiny vlakem, aby se dozvěděl z papírové cedule na schodech za mříží, že od 24 ledna je IC do odvolání zavřeno. V době, které žijeme, je tohle vrchol lajdáctví a arogance. Na webu ani zmínka.
A man takes less than two hours by train to find out from a paper sign on the stairs behind bars that the IC has been closed since January 24. In the times we live, this is the culmination of carelessness and arrogance. Not a mention on the web.
